Communications Strategy Template

Folks need “help with communication” and usually think that means “sending an email.” We know that cutting through the noise so employees (or any audience) see, understand, and take action based on your message requires a holistic and thoughtful approach.

I created this guide to do two things: drive consistency in how our communications team consults and supports our clients and educate and enable our colleagues outside of Comms to create meaningful communications strategies and plans independently.

It provides a step-by-step approach to defining goals, key messages, audience-specific calls to action, and selecting the right communication channels to ensure clarity and impact. It includes actionable advice on aligning communications with ongoing initiatives, timing considerations, and selecting trusted messengers. This tool empowers teams to create cohesive, impactful communications that drive desired outcomes across the organization.

This guide was later incorporated into a comms project request form that helps our team support a growing company in an efficient and scalable way.
